Someone might think that the Pont Luis I, perhaps one of Porto’s most visited and photographed bridge, bears some structural similarities with that of the famous Eiffel Tower of Paris, it isn’t designed or constructed by Gustav Eiffel. Instead, it is designed by his disciple/student Theophile Seyrig. The Pont Luis I, or Dom Luis I bridge, is a metal arch bridge spanning a length of about 380 m  connects the historic districts of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It is among the 6 bridges that crosses the Rio Duoro in downtown Porto area.
